EXPERIENCES
FOR
CHANGE

Hi! I’m Jane and I’m a…

Narrative Designer

Muriel Rukeyser famously wrote that the universe is made of stories, not of atoms.

Not all of us are wordsmiths like Muriel Rukeyser, but we all have stories to tell. My main focus when working on a project is creating an inspiring, deep, immersive universe that reflects the team by harnessing their stories.

My love of constantly finding and improving a process has helped teams build immersive worlds that align with the team’s creative vision.

Enviroment Artist

An environment tells and creates stories.

The space we’re in can change how we feel and act. To effectively tell a story, one must harness the power of all the senses, space, lighting, smell, and sound. My experience as a video game environment artist and a crafter has trained my keen sense for environment and set design.

Project Management Enthusiast

My goal? To constantly improve the way we work together as creative teams.

I have spent many years working in all sizes of creative teams, from non-profits to large multi-country teams, to indie studios and two-person projects. My methodological mind, love for efficient systems, and empathy have led me to have a deep interest in the production process of all things creative. I believe in giving everyone a voice, no matter your role on the team, and that is the most critical job of a person in a lead role. Balancing decision-making, keeping the project on track, and allowing everyone to be a part of the narrative process is a tricky and complex equation I think about daily.

Wellness advocate

“Empathy is the key to creating anything meaningful.”

I believe in growing and improving my empathy as a skill. To truly listen to someone is not an easy task, nor is putting our own biases and narratives aside. I hope that by putting the human experience before everything else, we can create true value.

Crafter

To work with one’s hands is the most grounding experience.

Growing up in a very digital-forward world, I gravitate to more tactile and slower, almost meditative crafts. When you work with fleece, wood, and clay, you can not only get a very complex tactile experience, but you also reconnect with the smell and sound of the natural materials. The physical strength required and the repetitive nature of these crafts give me a grounding and all-rounded experience that I can only express as “right.”

Supper Club Host

All my passions in one ephemeral evening.

I love creating an environment that is both comfortable and exciting! And I love food and people. A supper club is where all those passions intertwine into an evening of delight.

Novice Forager

Come join me in the fields and forest.

To forage is to connect more deeply with the natural world around you. There’s nothing more satisfying and wholesome than to go out into a forest and search for mushrooms or to ask an Elder for her berries.

World Traveller

Traveling has shaped who I am and has grown my perspective.

I’m lucky to have grown up in a family that took me traveling and fueled my passion for exploring and experiencing new things. If I lived in a world with no borders and universal income, I’d most likely spend 50% of my time traveling, meeting people, and putting myself in the way of random experiences. And I’d spend the other 50% of my time exploring projects with the people I’ve met!

How I create meaningful experiences

Finding the magic in the creative chaos.

The world of meaningful design is never straightforward. In the chaos, beauty is born. I love the challenge of diving into that creative chaos, finding the patterns, and tying up the ends to bring out the magic in every experience.

Design and work with awe and respect

Almost everything we do has an impact on someone or something. When we remember to be in awe of all that is around us, then we remember to treat everything and everyone with the respect they deserve.

Rewild, Reground, Reconnect

I believe that every small effort made towards rewilding ourselves , whether it’s by connecting with nature or simply being present in the moment, is a victory.
